WP2

Work package 2 Revolutionizing Skeletal Research with Large-Scale EOS 3D X-Ray Imaging Large-scale EOS 3D X-ray imaging: The objective of this work package is to establish a comprehensive collection of innovative skeletal imaging assessments to advance research on skeletal fragility. To accomplish this, we will acquire an EOS® medical imaging system to perform whole-body scans […]
Work Packages
LEGENDARE is a European Research Council (ERC) funded research project aimed at advancing our understanding of human skeletal fragility and associated conditions through innovative genomic approaches. The project is structured into five distinct work packages (WP’s), each focusing on a different area of expertise to comprehensively address the challenges of bone health and fragility.
WP1

Work package 1 Refining Genomic Profiles for Improved Insights into Skeletal Diseases Integrated genomic profiling and Imaging clustering of patients (clinical setting): The objective of this work package is to translate genomic discoveries and imaging insights on skeletal fragility into clinical practice, with the aim of improving patient care. Genomic studies provide a wealth of […]
Gemstone

The GEMSTONE COST Action unites experts across Europe to translate genomic breakthroughs in musculoskeletal research into clinical applications. By tackling mobility loss — a key factor in aging and chronic diseases like osteoporosis and diabetes — GEMSTONE aims to improve quality of life and foster innovative treatments for musculoskeletal conditions.
Fidelio

FIDELIO, a Horizon 2020 training network (2019–2024), united 14 European institutions to tackle bone fragility in type 2 diabetes. By uncovering the unique mechanisms behind diabetes-induced osteoporosis, FIDELIO aimed to develop innovative biomarkers for earlier detection and personalized treatments — improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare burdens.
Legendare HOME

LEGENDARE is a program funded by the ERC Advanced Grant No. 101021500, aimed at using genomics for preventing and managing human skeletal fragility and associated conditions.
Sinter – HOME

The SINTER Study examines bone strength, influenced by genetics, aging, and lifestyle. Osteoporosis, linked to low bone mass and high fracture risk, worsens with age and health conditions like diabetes
